Funding is made available for the development, research, commissioning, production, presentation and documentation of distinctive contemporary projects in the visual arts. Projects may include the production of new works, exhibitions, lectures and film programs, workshops, publications, as well as preliminary research devoted to the realization of future projects. Proposals are evaluated primarily on the basis of their originality and timeliness.
Past project grants have supported the establishment of an arts academy in Beirut, the realization of public art projects by artists’ collectives in Argentina, and a fellowship and studio program in Delhi organized by Raqs Media Collective. Click here for a complete list of recent project grants.
FfAI is especially interested in projects that are organized by curators and artists themselves, independent of traditional or existing arts infrastructures. More information about such independent initiatives may be found here.
Only invited proposals are considered; unsolicited proposals are not accepted.
