Curators grants are intended to foster the development of projects that are in line with FfAI’s goals of supporting exceptional arts initiatives around the world. The central purpose of this program is to give curators the opportunity to explore and develop their own ideas outside the constraints of institutional or professional obligations. Recipients of these grants are curators, critics, writers, producers of artists’ work, and others who are active in organizing projects in the visual arts.
Lack of available resources for research and travel, along with an interest in working on original or experimental projects in the visual arts and/or with emerging or under-recognized artists are the core criteria for selection.
There is no application process. Candidates are identified and recommended by arts professionals, former curators grant recipients, and members of the FfAI Board. Unsolicited applications or nominations are not considered.
Grants of $7,500 are awarded to selected candidates. Recent curators grant recipients are listed here.
